The O’Dea Fighting Irish and Ballard Beavers went head to head for the first time this season on Friday, March 15th at Ballard High School. The teams kept a close game, but the Beavers came out on top, 2-1. And they had a quick rematch on Wednesday the 20th, which ended once again with a 2-1 Ballard victory.
During this re-match, the Beavers were able to secure one of their two goals through a penalty kick, which was essential for the win.
O’Dea was determined on coming back to win the game, but only star player Lucas Tamalunas could snag a goal.
The two teams have yet to find a rhythm in the 2024 season, with Ballard carrying a 1-1-2 record so far. O’Dea was able to beat Chief Sealth 4-0 but are now seeking to rebound off of a four-loss streak.
Ballard will next compete against the Lincoln Lynx at Ballard High School on Friday March 22nd. O’Dea will play the same day against the Roosevelt Rough Riders at Roosevelt High School.
