Football: Crusaders ease past Hawks to set up date with Monroe

The Crusaders hosted their opening round playoff game and came away with a convincing win.

On this important playoff match up The Mountlake Terrace Hawks traveled to the Plateau to face off against the Eastside Catholic Crusaders but came away empty handed as the home team came away with a 49-20 victory and a spot in the next round of the playoffs.

The Crusaders ran away with this game early scoring 2 first quarter touchdowns and they never looked back. EC won this game with their rushing attack they had a combined 306 yards of rushing yards. Jeremiah “JB” Burroughs ’25 had three rushing touchdowns and running back mate Nick Jones ’26 had one of his own, and Daniel Jones ’27 found the endzone as well. The Crusaders might have lost this game, because EC only had 113 passing yards with an interception and one touchdown.

The Hawks didn’t play too badly they had some good moments and players like Owen Boswell who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown and Mason Wilson who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown. These guys kept the Hawks in the game, and they kept fighting till the end.

This loss will end the Hawks season and they will look to regroup and come back stronger next year. They finished out the season 6-4. Meanwhile, the Crusaders will play this Saturday against Monroe, EC is favored to win this game. The game is at EC at 3PM.
