Wednesday, October 18th, The Bishop Blanchet Bears visited the Eastside Catholic Crusaders for the 12th annual NOFA volleyball game. The last time the Bears took on the Crusaders, they came out of 5 sets with a score of 3-1. The Bears made sure they’d do what they could for another victory. NOFA, No One Fights Alone, is a fundraiser for cancer awareness held as an annual volleyball game on the Eastside Catholic court.
The Bears dominated the game, winning the last 3 sets out of the 4 played. By the middle of the 2nd set, it was looking like there would be 5 sets of the night. The Crusaders put in their all, but the Bears were up by just a couple of points, with a final score of Bears 25-20 to the Crusaders. The first set was the Crusaders’ win of the night and a tough one. The Bears gave their full power, losing the set by just two points.
The Bears attacked full strength in set 3, their shortest set prevailing in a score of 25-8. The Crusaders still tried their hardest but lost the final set 25-16. Bishop Blanchet Senior, Ashlyn Warburton attacked on the field, with 10 kills and 24 attack attempts over the 4 sets played.

The Bears stay at 5th place in the 3A Metro League, with the Crusaders at 9th this season. Next up for the Bears is traveling to the Lakeside Lions, as for the Crusaders visiting West Seattle. Both games are taking place on Monday, October 23.
