Boys Basketball: Crusaders take tough loss to Oregon’s Central Catholic

The Crusaders entered the season with high hopes but have struggled out of the gate — most recently to an Oregon powerhouse.

This weekend, the 2024 Oregon state champions Central Catholic Rams 2-1 (OR) hosted the 2024 Washington state champion Eastside Catholic Crusaders from 2-2 (WA). The Rams ousted the Crusaders 82-54, after leaping out to a 26-2 in just the first quarter.

The Central Catholic stars of this game were Wake Forest commit, Isaac Carr, with an impressive 24 points, and OSU-offered Zamir Pachal he had 16 points and 5 rebounds in the game. Although these were the top scorers, everyone on the Rams scored except for two players.

EC top scorers were Achilles Reyna, Reyna had 20 points. He lead the Crusaders in scoring he was a big reason why the score wasn’t worse than what it was. Yabi Aklog had 14 points and a few rebounds.

The Central Catholic Rams‘ next game is against the 8-0 Grayson Rams. The Crusaders tip off against the West Seattle Wildcats they are 1-3.
