While the defending champions graduated the Gatorade Player of the year Jacob Cofie, the Crusaders will bring back many useful, and impactful players from the state championship year. Coming off a 19-point showing against Lindbergh in the season opener, senior point guard Alex Elston will be hoping to help lead the Crusaders in a strong 2024-2025 season. Players to look out for this game for Eastside Catholic are juniors Yabi Aklog whose heroics in last season’s state championship led the Crusaders to their first title in school history and Dash Lamebull-Ingram, a speedy and talented point guard who can support Elston on the ball.

As for Seattle Prep, they are looking to improve upon their 11-15 record from last year. But things are looking good for them as they’ve started the year in winning fashion, including a 94-64 drubbing of the Sammamish Redhawks. Thanks in large part to junior Rakin Showki, who managed a healthy 26 points, 8 assists, and 2 steals. Other key players for this Seattle Prep team are Beckham King, Nirvaan Misra, and Niko Christfilis.

Seattle Prep will have more game experience going into this game because they have already played 3 games compared to Eastside Catholic’s 1 game, but with both teams having great players on both sides this should be an intense match-up.
