Heading into the last stretch of boys soccer season while all teams are preparing for the post-season, teams are looking to finish off strong and have the best seeding possible for playoffs.

The O’Dea Fighting Irish and Lakeside Lions will be battling for the 2nd and 3rd seed in the Metro Mountain division in the last game of the regular season at Lakeside Highschool.

In their last meeting, O’Dea came out victorious in a narrow match ending 2-1 in favor of the Irish in the first week of the season. Lakeside was left with a bitter taste and are looking for revenge. O’Dea now have to travel to Lakeside to try and take the series.

Lakeside is 7-3-3, however, they have only 1 loss in their past 7 games and, they are coming off a statement victory over a formidable Seattle Prep side in which the Lions dismantled their opponents 4-0. Lakeside is playing the best soccer they have all season and they are looking to keep their hot hand.

The Irish are 7-2-4 and currently 1 point below the Lions. O’Dea has been dropping points recently, losing to Lincoln and Seattle Prep and drawing with Roosevelt.

O’Dea is led by senior captain and University of Duke commit, Julius Suber, Suber has been phenomenal this season, the forward has 8 goals in 12 games and he is the heart of the deadly Irish attack.

The two sides are neck and neck statistically with both teams averaging 1.8 goals scored and 1.1 goals allowed per game.

Lakeside would take the higher seeding if the two teams were to tie so, O’Dea is coming for blood and will look to make a statement before the post-season.
