Recap: Lincoln and Seattle Prep Split The Points In a Tense Duel

The Lincoln Lynx hosted the Seattle Prep Panthers Monday Night in a battle which both teams were ready to get their claws out for. Despite a hard-fought battle for the vast majority of the contest, the only goal-scoring action came in the closing minutes of the game.

Jackson Peterson of Seattle Prep opened the scoring, tucking away what seemed like a game-winning goal in the 88th minute.

But Lincoln pushed high up the field after the restart and went on the attack in the dying embers of the game and managed to pull one back against Seattle Prep, bringing the final score to an unexpected 1-1 draw.

Lincoln goalkeeper Michael Reddy came up clutch today, saving a penalty early on to keep his Lynx in the game. Reddy has played a key role in Lincoln’s success this season. He has helped his Lincoln side climb back up into 6th in the Metro Mountain Division with a 3-2-2 overall this season, but it is also important to remember this is the first game Lincoln has played in their division this season.

Both teams will hit the road for their upcoming games. Lincoln will face off against Roosevelt at 5:00 p.m. later today. Roosevelt has been struggling to score goals, so it will be interesting to see if they can finally open up the floodgates against this Lincoln backline. Seattle Prep take on Lakeside at 4:00 p.m. later today, and fans should expect to see the Panthers route lakeside. A team which has allowed 3.8 goals per game.
