Get ready for a great game this upcoming Friday. The Eastside Catholic Crusaders tip off at home against the visiting Nathan Hale Raiders at 7:30pm.
The Raiders ended their 2022-2023 season with a 20-3 overall win-loss ratio, good for a 87% win rate from the Raiders. In the district they were 13-2 and placed 2nd in 3A metro. The Raiders also placed 3rd place in the Washington State 3A basketball standings. Overall the Raiders had an amazing 2022-2023 season.
Following up with the Crusaders, they ended their 2022-2023 season with a 17-12-1 win-loss-tie ratio. This is a 58% win rate from the Crusaders. The Crusaders went 13-8-1 in the district ranking, and they placed 4th in 3A metro. The Crusader’s faced the Raiders and won 12-2 last year. The Crusaders also placed 24th in Washington State 3A basketball standings. Overall the Crusaders had a good 2022-2023 season. One notable player for the Crusaders was last year was ’24 Jacob Cofie. Cofie is 6″9, 255 lbs and committed to the University of Virginia. Cofie was a superstar for the team last year, contributing a big chunk of their points. Cofie was also featured in an article “High school basketball rankings: Expanding the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 all the way to 100“.
With the Crusader’s and Raider’s both having good seasons last year, this matchup was going to be very heated. The Raider’s are going into this stellar match 5-8 overall win loss ratio, and 3-5 with a league win loss ratio. One of their loses was to the Crusaders on December 27th, 2023. The Crusaders overtook them with a win of 61-55.
The Crusaders are into the new season with a 6-0 win streak in the Metro League. Overall the Crusaders are 9-1. Crusaders also are get one last year of super star Jacob Cofie.
While the Raiders had a spectacular season, and started their 2022-2023 season stellar, it looks as if the Crusaders are following in the Raiders epic footsteps for this 2023-2024 season. Who is going to come out on top?
