Lacrosse: O’Dea and Eastside Catholic Both Hope to Continue Recent Success

A quick look into the upcoming lacrosse match between O’Dea and Eastside Catholic.

On Friday night, under the lights, the O’Dea Fighting Irish will travel to Sammamish to take on the Eastside Catholic Crusaders in a lacrosse game. Both teams have had some good days and some bad, but now they are looking to put that all behind them. Coming into this game O’Dea has a 8-2 record, whilst Eastside Catholic is coming in with a 6-4 record. O’Dea might have the better record, but Eastside Catholic has some players that O’Dea needs to worry about.

Crusaders captain Cam McColly has a good amount of goals coming into this game, holding 37 goals to his name. Additionally, freshman Danny Chang has generated plenty of offense, as he has scored 8 goals and 15 assists, with 23 total points.

O’Dea has some quality players of their own though, including three players with 35+ points. Senior Cooper Gissing has an impressive 32 goals all by himself. Junior Miles Tropea has also been playing well, having 26 goals, 30 assists, and 56 points,. To add to this, O’Dea’s goalie has been carrying his team on the defensive side. Junior Jacob Newman has 75 saves and a 60% save percentage.

Star player Miles Tropea is shredding up his first year in Seattle. He started playing lacrosse in kindergarten and is excited to continue his lacrosse career into college. He will play anywhere on attack and right mid, he is right-hand dominant and a beast on the field.

The Crusaders have been struggling lately and are in the middle of a possible goalie change, we’ll have to see if they can pick it up here and get a win against O’Dea. If you want to watch this game you can watch it on Metro Prep Athletics Youtube channel. They will be broadcasting it live.
