Girls Soccer: Panthers top Lions, Roughriders

Seattle Prep Panthers vs. Lakeside Lions – Sophie Panay

The Panthers took the win at their home field Magnuson Park on Tuesday, September 19^th, 2023. The Panthers continuing their amazing season this year winning 2-0 against their biggest opponent, lakeside, in girls’ varsity soccer. Seattle Prep has had an amazing year being 6-2 this season. Lakeside has also had a great year being 6-1-1. Lakeside and Prep have faced each other one time this season and the Panthers have taken the lead.

The two crucial goals in the game were scored by Adri Torres and Mia Boltz. Those two goals helped them stay in their perfect season. Lakeside player Fiona Linnau attempted to make two shots in the game but she failed to get past the Panthers.

Lakeside having four saves was not enough to keep Torres and Mia Boltz away from their goal. With the Panther’s 6^th win to keep the perfect season going, they currently sit atop the Metro League alongside Roosevelt.

In 3A metro girls soccer with Lakeside being tied for first, Prep is off to face Blanchet next and Lakeside is off to face holy names. Who will come out as #1 in the league? Lakeside or the Panthers?

Roosevelt Roughriders vs. West Seattle Wildcats – Sophie Panay

The Roosevelt Roughrider’s took a home 4-0 win at Roosevelt High School against the West Seattle Wildcats. Roosevelt had a great year being 4-1-1 with a 81.20% win rate. This win added to their score. The game took place on September 19^th, 2023 and it was a wild ride.

The loss did not help the Wildcats get their point of position up in the Metro league standings. With the Roughriders taking another win, the Wildcats are now 1-4. The Roughrider’s are ranked the #4 team in the Washington metro division. West Seattle is WIAA RIP rank is #42, being 1-4 this season.

Chief Sealth Seahawks vs. Ingraham Rams – Sophie Panay

The Rams took the win from the Seahawks in an electrifying Girls varsity soccer shutout, clinching a 6-0 victory on Chief Sealth’s turf. The game took place on September 19, 2023, and left Chief Sealth with another tragic loss.

The Chief Sealth Seahawks gained a loss this year making them 0-4, while Ingraham just gained a W in the books after being 0-4-1. Going head to head Ingraham has Sealth beat by 1.

Ingraham has been struggling this season, so this win was much needed. That loss for Chief Sealth kept them at the bottom of the Varsity Soccer standings.                                                                 

The win for Ingraham, however, bumped them up a place in the standings. In WIAA RPI, the Seahawks are ranked 76 as the Rams are ranked 64.

Blanchet Bears vs. Lincoln Lynx – Emmy Seven

After a close game between the Bishop Blanchet Bears and the Lincoln Lynx’s, the Lions took the win. The game took place on September 19 2023, and the final score was 3-5 (Lincoln).  

Unfortunately, this puts the Bears at 2-3 with a losing streak of two, ranking them eighth in the 3A metro league power rankings. But for the Lynx’s, this victory bumps them up to seventh in the power rankings and puts them at 3-3.

Two amazing Bear goals were made by Julia Alvarez and two amazing assists were made by Rachel McAllister. Both girls are working on pushing the Bears to victory this season.  

Eastside Catholic Crusaders vs. Ballard Beavers – Emmy Seven

The Eastside Catholic Crusaders and Ballard Beavers also had a game on September 19, 2023. The game ended with a final score of 2-1, with the Crusaders on top. Both teams have had a pretty good season so far, the Crusaders with 4-2 and the Beavers with 1-3-1.  

Eastside is moving up in the power rankings, now ranked in sixth place and holding a winning streak of one. Unfortunately for Ballard they have moved down in the power rankings, now ranked in 10th place and holding a losing streak of one.  

Nathan Hale Raiders vs. Franklin Quakers – Emmy Seven

Nathan Hale had an amazing game against Franklin on September 19^th, 2023, winning with a final score of 5-0. Not only was the Raiders offense incredible, but their defense didn’t even let the Quakers get near their goal.  

Franklin holds the eleventh seed in the 3A Metro League power rankings with a losing streak of one. They are now 1-3-1 with a projected 38% chance of winning their next game. Nathan Hale is having a great season so far being ranked fifth in the power rankings and being 3-2.
