Last Friday, the Crusaders fell just short 7-16 against O’Dea in their bid to establish themselves as the team to beat in the Metro League. This puts the Crusaders at 3-1 with a losing streak of one. Other than their last game, the Crusaders have had a pretty good season. Wide receiver, Asa Thompson, has scored 6 touchdowns for the Crusaders so far, while running back Nick Jones who has scored 4. Not only has the Crusader’s offense been on fire, but so has the defense. Middle linebacker, David Lene, has made two interceptions this season, and defensive end, Hudson McColly, is averaging 5 tackles per game.

Garfield on the other hand won their last game against Ballard, with a final score of 56-13. This puts the Bulldogs at 4-0 with a winning streak of four. Garfield has also had a good season this year. In most of their games, they have won with a huge lead over the opposing teams. This is thanks to running back, Reylen Witherspoon, who has a healthy 6 touchdowns this season while wide receiver, Reggie Witherspoon III, who checks in with 2 receiving touchdowns on the season. The Bulldog’s offense has been incredible this season, and their quarterback, EJ Caminong, has also been a huge reason for this. Caminong has made six touchdowns this season and has made some big plays for the Bulldogs.

The two teams will match up this Friday at Eastside Catholic’s Acosta field. This is also a big game for the Crusaders, since it is their homecoming game and senior night. The last time the two teams played each other the Crusaders took the win, with a final score of 30-10.

This season though, the Bulldogs have an average scoring score of 38.8 and the Crusaders trail with an average scoring score of 29.8. Garfield vs Eastside Catholic | Football | 10/6 (maxpreps.com)This being said, the Crusader’s defense may be enough to stop the Bulldogs from scoring.
