Boys Lax: Tropa’s 10 points leads Irish to victo

O’Dea’s luck didn’t run out last week, as the Irish toppled the Gonzaga Prep Bulldogs in the WA State Lax Tournament.

Last Saturday, O’Dea took on Gonzaga Prep in a shootout of a game that saw the Fighting Irish walk away with a 12-7 win. O’Dea’s Miles Tropa had a standout game, registering 4 goals and 6 assists (good for 10 of the Irish’s 12 points) as the junior propelled them to victory. He has been a crucial player for O’Dea, this ended Prep’s season and O’Dea will continue to try to make the state game.

O’Dea keeps their great record up. They are likely too play Seattle Prep in state. The goal scores for O’Dea was Miles Tropa and Kaleb Carr. The Irish use an atypical strategy in that they consistently rotate their goalies. On the day, the goalies’ stats spoke for themselves. Jacob Newman had 36 mins, 8 saves (on 11 shots) for a 0.727 save percentage. Kellen Swinford had 1 save (on 2 shots) with a 0.500 save percentage. The last goalie Ramere Collier-Banks had 1 save (on four shots) a 0.250 save percentage, allowing three goals.

The Irish look too keep their season going and their hot streak alive. With only three losses on the season, they may make the state championship two years in a row if they keep performing.
